On Tuesday night, a woman was struck by a truck in San Ysidro and revived after her heart stopped.
The accident took place at the intersection of San Ysidro Boulevard and Olive Drive around 5 p.m. The woman was crossing the street when a 29-year-old man turning right failed to see her and hit her with his truck.
The victim was taken to the UCSD hospital with major injuries to her head and a few scrapes and bruises. Although her injuries seemed superficial, she went into cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated.
Authorities have questioned the driver responsible and he was not believed to be under the influence at the time of the incident.
