A 65-year-old preschool teacher was killed after Christmas Eve festivities when a teen struck her with his vehicle in Serra Mesa.
The accident took place Monday evening at a Ruffin Road crosswalk. The woman was on her way back to her parked car when she was hit by a white Hyundai.
The driver was a 16-year-old boy. It’s unclear whether he was texting and driving. There was a significant amount of property damage to the teen’s car. He stayed at the scene of the accident until authorities arrived.
The accident is still under investigation.
